BADEA’s board of directors to meet in Khartoum

Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - The board of directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) will hold its third meeting for the year in Khartoum, Sudan, 19-21 October, the bank said in a statement made available to PANA here Tuesday.

The meeting, to be held under the Chairmanship of Yousif Bin Ibrahim Al Bassam and attended by Director-General Abdelaziz Khelef, among others, will consider a number of important issues, including the approval of financing for a new batch of projects and technical assistance operations for the benefit of several African countries.

At its first meeting this year, the board approved financing for projects and technical assistance operations for the benefit of 16 African countries.

The total cost of the projects was US$94.385 million, out of which US$91.700 million was allocated to financing 11 development projects, and US$2.685 million for financing 10 technical assistance operations.

The board also approved projects worth US$56.655 million during its second meeting, out of which US$54.200 million was earmarked for financing seven projects and US$2.455 million for nine technical assistance operations.
