Lome, Togo (PANA) - The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Togolese government, here Monday signed a financing agreement, to the tune of US$ 300,000, to support the National Laboratory of Building and Public Works (LNBTP) project, official sources told PANA Tuesday.
The agreement was signed by the Togolese Minister in charge of Public Works, Tchamdja Andjo, and Director General of BADEA, Abdelaziz Kelefa, who is on a visit to Togo.
BADEA contributes in similar ways to partially funding the proposed project, whose total amount is estimated at 350 million CFA francs.
The support will enable Togo to provide LNBTP with equipment and materials, which will help build its capacities in the areas of tests, analyses, research, studies and geotechnical control of public works.
Created in 1978, LNBTP has been unable to achieve its objectives because of financial difficulties.
