BADEA chief due in Benin

Cotonou- Benin (PANA) -- Medahat Lotfy, Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), is expected in Cotonou on a three-day visit to Benin, Foreign Affairs and African Integration Ministry said.
It said in a statement, the visit, due to start Wednesday was part of efforts to step up co-operation between Benin and the banking institution.
Lotfy, to be accompanied by another BADEA official Ebe Mould Ebe, would assess Benin development projects enjoying BADEA's financial support.
He is also expected to meet with President Mathieu Kerekou, Planning and Development Minister Bruno Amoussou, and other government officials.
Created in September 1973 in Algiers by the 6th Arab League Summit, BADEA focuses the attention of the Arab world on the economic development of Africa through the financing of projects and technical assistance.
