Nouakchott- Mauritania (PANA) -- The Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Abdel Aziz Khelef, arrived on a two-day working visit to Mauritania Sunday, as part of a sub-regional tour, official sou r ces told PANA.
During the visit, Khelef will meet with officials from the public and the privat e sector It is expected that he will use the meetings to provide Mauritanian businessmen with "a clear idea" on the opportunities offered by BADEA.
Though Mauritanian companies have qualified for tender bids made by the BADEA, s o far very few of them have implemented BADEA-funded projects, according to a document by the General Delegation for the Promotion of Private Investment (DGPIP).
The institution, therefore, has embarked on the mobilisation of economic operato rs and businessmen in various areas (including public buildings and works, agric u lture, animal and plant production and rural development) to attend Tuesday’s me e ting with the BADEA boss.
Before arriving in Mauritania, Khelef had visited Senegal, Guinea Bissau and The Gambia.
