Rabat, Morocco (PANA) - Foreign Ministers from the member states of the Arab League are due to meet in Rabat, Morocco, Wednesday to seek ways of easing the tension in Syria, where protesters are seeking a regime change.
The national radio quoted Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation as saying in a statement Monday that the meeting would evaluate the decisions reached at the ministerial meeting of the League in Cairo 2 Nov.
The Cairo meeting stipulates the withdrawal of the Syrian forces from several cities where protests are raging and the release of protesters arrested since the start of the crisis.
The Arab League on Saturday voted to suspend Syria, with effect from Wednesday, for not implementing the plans.
According to the UN, over 3,000 people have been killed since the crisis started.
