The integrated rural development project, located on the left bank of the Niger River, aims at the hydro-agricultural development of about 400 hectares of land.
It includes development of an irrigation and drainage network, a 250m channel from the river to a pumping station, a dyke to prevent flooding and road links.
Construction of a pumping station and installation of a sprinkling network are other components of the project.
It is intended to enhance food security and improve the populations' living condition, a government statement said here.
