Angolan govt. to build new airport at Mbanza Kongo

Mbanza Kongo- Angola (PANA) -- The Angolan Minister of Urbanism and Construction, Jose Ferreira, announced Tuesday the construction of a new airport at Mbanza Ko n go, the capital of the province of Zaire, Northern Angola, in 2011.
Ferreira told the press the current airport, which is in the centre of the city, was a danger to the local population.
Pending the construction of the new airport, he said, the government was rehabil itating the existing airport.
According to him, the government will disburse US$ 57 million to build the new a irport.
Work on the new airport, he said, would start in July 2011 and is due to last 18 months.
