Angolan Armed Forces to co-operate with SADC to combat HIV/AIDS

Luanda, Angola (PANA) - The Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) has declared its willingness to co-operate with the armies of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) to efficiently control HIV/AIDS in the region.

The FAA’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Patriotic Education, General Egidio de Sousa e Santos, disclosed this Thursday at the end of the second workshop on SADC Technical Military Sub Committee for HIV/AIDS, which was held 27-29 September in Luanda.

Santos also defended the regular holding of HIV/AIDS tests among SADC officers.

The closing ceremony of the workshop was attended by delegations from various African
countries, including US, government officials, representatives of the diplomatic body accredited in Angola among others.
