Alpha Blondy calls for peace in Cote d'Ivoire

Cotonou- Benin (PANA) -- Ivorian musician Alpha Blondy has appealed to opponents in the current crisis in Cote d'Ivoire to work for the normalisation of the situation.
Speaking Sunday at the end of a concert staged here, Blondy said Ivorians should end the fratricidal war and learn to live as sensible people "so that they not to perish as if they were idiots.
" "You are waging the wrong war because you are fighting against the wrong enemies," the reggae singer said, accusing the perpetrators of the Ivorian crisis of using personal feuds to "crush the population with their hatred.
" Blondy composed a song on the upheaval in his country, describing Ivorian leaders as "puppets unable to handle power.
