Algeria hosts second regional CAF Club Licensing Workshop 2024
Algiers, Algeria (PANA) - Following a successful kick off to the CAF Club Licencing Regional Workshop 2024 in Mauritania, Algeria is playing host to the second leg of the ongoing workshop aimed at reaching all 54 CAF Member Associations.
The four-day workshop will see 12 French-speaking nations gathered at the north African country for the workshop geared at aiding Member Associations with CAF’s Club Licensing Regulations and how they can benefit the respective Member Associations.
The CAF Club Licensing Regional Workshops will be conducted over four nations with the recent conclusion in Mauritania, now Algeria as well as Ethiopia and Ghana over the next few weeks.
Speaking at the official opening on Tuesday, Nadir Bouzenad, Secretary General of Algerian Football Federation (FAF), lauded the initiative by CAF who have worked tirelessly over recent years to develop football in Africa.
He said: "Club Licensing is a fundamental element in ensuring the transparency, competitiveness and sustainability of our football.
"As Secretary General of FAF, I am convinced that this workshop will be a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, share best practices and strengthen our collective capabilities. Together, we can work towards the development of our sport on the African continent.”
Key Topics to be discussed at the workshop include updates on the usage of the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) for the club licensing procedure; review of the status of the implementation of the Club Licensing System in the Member Associations' national competitions; ensuring that the Member Associations are ready to communicate the licensing decisions before the set deadline for clubs' engagement in CAF Inter-club competitions 2024-25 (men's and women's). Conducting a refresher session on stadium pre-inspection procedures.
Others are to train Club Licensing Managers (CLM) in using the CLOP, specifically the stadium module; and Conduct practical on-site stadium inspection training.
