Al-Bashir for OAU Lome Summit

Khartoum- Sudan (PANA) -- Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir leaves Khartoum Thursday for Lome, Togo, for the 18-19 May Summit of the OAU Central Organ on the Mechanism for Conflict Prevention, Mediation and Resolution, the Sudan News Agency reported Wednesday.
He is to be accompanied by his Adviser for Political Affairs, Mahadi Ibrahim, and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Al-Tighani Salih Fedail.
Foreign Minister, Mustafa Osman Ismail was quoted as saying the Summit would discuss the conflicts in Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other trouble-spots in Africa.
He explained that Sudan, as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Mechanism for settlement of conflicts, will make some proposals to the meeting.
Ismail said the Sudanese President would also brief his colleagues on the peace process in Sudan and hold bilateral consultations on the sidelines of the Summit.
