African scouts honour Mandela

Nairobi- Kenya (PANA) -- Former South African president Nelson Mandela will on Friday be awarded the Africa Elephant, the top Scout award in the continent for his continued support of the growth and development of the movement, the Africa Bureau of the World Scout Movement said in a statement Thursday.
The award, the statement said, will be presented by the Vice Chairman of the Africa Scout Committee Nkwekwe Nkomo, who is also the Chief Scout of South Africa accompanied by the Regional Director of the Africa Scout Region, Kinuthia Murugu.
The Scout Movement is the world's largest educational youth movement with more than 28 million members - youth and adults - in 216 countries and territories.
