Lagos- Nigeria (PANA) -- Four female members of Nigeria's national youth service corps (NYSC), who were abducted by unknown gunmen 16 Sept.
in southern Rivers st a te, were rescued by security men in nearby Abia state Wednesday.
Though five corpers were abducted, one was freed shortly thereafter.
Head of NYSC, Brig.
-Gen Maharazu Tsiga, expressed happiness at the rescue of the corpers.
''Today, they have been rescued and they are in our hands now.
Nothing happened to anyone of them.
I am particularly happy when I saw them because they are in good health and looking very good as corps members,'' he tol d journalists.
Kidnapping for ransom has become rampant in South-east Nigeria.
