AUC chairperson prays for Mandela’s speedy recovery

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (PANA) - African Union Commission Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has sent former South African President Nelson Mandela a “get-well-soon” message, as he undergoes treatment in a hospital in Pretoria.

“I have been following very closely, with prayerful attention, the evolution of Nelson Mandela’s health,” PANA on Tuesday quoted her to have said in the message, affirming that the 94-year-old freedom fighter for the liberation of South Africa from apartheid was “getting the best possible medical attention and treatment anyone of his status could receive”.

Dr. Dlamini Zuma’s message went on: “It gives me great comfort to hear that he is also responding positively to treatment.

“I am sending him our fervent prayers and numerous get-well-soon messages from the entire staff of the Commission, organs and people of the Union. We give him courage and urge him carry on.
We continue to pray and look forward to Madiba’s speedy recovery!”
