AU gives Comoros US$50,000 for reproductive health (Corrected)

Moroni- Comoros (PANA) -- The African Union (AU) has granted US$50,000 to the Uni on of the Comoros to support reproductive health through the purchase of delivery kits, especially for Cesare an Sections, sources in Moroni, the Comorian capital, told PANA.
The pact on the grant was signed Saturday by the head of the liaison bureau of t he AU in the Comoros, Mourad Taأ¯ati, and the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Yao Kassankogno.
Three health districts of the Island of Anjouan will be covered by the grant, wh ich aims at "reducing mother and child mortality" in the targeted areas, according to Mr.
Taأ¯ati.
In 2002, the AU also gave US$500,000 to the Union of the Comoros to support the fight against malaria and poliomyelitis, among others.
