AU, UAE discuss collaboration and achieving peace in Africa

Port  Sudan, Sudan (PANA) - African Union (AU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have concluded talks to cement relations between the continental body and the Gulf state, with key stress on working together to achieve peace in many boiling African states.

A statement on the website of the AU said at the conclusion of a visit by the AU Commissioner to Abu Dhabi said both sides explored collaboration in several key domains.

These include economic development, trade, and investment, renewable and green energy, infrastructure, technology, and digital transformation, health, education, and human capital development, peace, security, mediation, and stabilisation efforts, including in Somalia, Sudan, the DRC, and the Sahel region.

During the visit, Mr. Youssouf held talks with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. focusing on aligning mutual priorities and establishing mechanisms for sustained cooperation.

The press release said the two sides agreed on the establishment of joint working groups tasked with implementing priority cooperation areas and maintaining regular high-level dialogue.
