ANC takes moves to eradicate racism in schools

Cape Town- South Africa (PANA) -- South Africa's ruling African National Congress Youth League in the Western Cape is spearheading a campaign to eradicate racially based exclusions from all schools.
The campaign which coincided with the re-opening of schools around the country on Wednesday, saw ANC leaders visiting several schools around the province.
"We will look to issues of admissions policy, racially constituted schools as well as paying attention to the former model C schools, some of which have denied admission on the basis of affordability, an act which is illegal," said ANC spokesman Mtholephi Mthimkhulu.
However, the opposition Democratic Alliance said the ANC's campaign may violate the Education Minister's own rules designed to keep party politics out of South African schools.
