98 Gambian peacekeepers depart for Darfur

Banjul- Gambia (PANA) -- The eight batches of Gambian peacekeepers, consisting of 98 security agents, left Banjul Friday for Dafur under the African Union peace k eeping mission, in Sudan.
Addressing the officers before their departure, Chief of Staff, Lt.
Yankuba Drammeh, urged them to act and behave in a disciplined, respected and trustwort h y manner while in Dafur, adding that they should respect the host country in the i r day to day dealings there.
Drammeh also advised the soldiers to desist from anything that could tarnish the image of the United Nations, African Union and the Gambian government.
He also urged them to work as a team and not in isolation.
