77th UN General Assembly: Chairman of Libyan Presidential Council praises Germany's role in seeking political solution in Libya

Tripoli, Libya (PANA)- The chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Manfi, on the sidelines of the 77th UN General Assembly, Tuesday hailed Germany's role in supporting, on several occasions, the political track in Libya, including the Berlin 1-2 conferences.

In an address to the consultative meeting on joint cooperation between Germany and Africa in New York, held by German Chancellor Olaf Schultz with African leaders, the Libyan leader praised Berlin's contribution in supporting Libya's stability and its contribution to the success of the national reconciliation project in partnership with the African Union, said a statement from the Libyan Council.

Al-Manfi was quoted by the same source on Wednesday as referring to the challenges of food security in Africa, especially in light of the current international crisis, and the importance of joint cooperation to overcome this crisis.

He mentioned the role that Libya could play in many issues, the most important of which are the oil, energy and environmental issues, and the creation of economic and investment opportunities that would benefit both continents.

These, he observed, could contribute to stopping illegal migration and the establishment of sustainable development in Africa.
