683 Mauritanian flee Ivorian crisis

Nouakchott, Mauritania (PANA) - A group of 683 Mauritanians fleeing the Ivorian crisis arrived Tuesday in Aioun El Atrous, a town in the east, near the border with Mali, reports the Mauritanian  Information Agency (AIM).

Made up mainly of women and children, the group arrived aboard buses, an operation organized by the Embassy of Mauritania in Abidjan.

Other groups of Mauritanian returnees from Côte d'Ivoire had arrived a few days ago.
