5 killed, 4 injured in clashes in Libyan city

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Five persons have been killed and four others injured in clashes in the town of Tawouche, some 1,000 kilometres away from Tripoli, the Libyan capital, local media reported Monday, quoting security sources.

“Armed clashes broke out two days ago involving residents of the town of Tawouche over the occupation of the building recently commissioned by the government," they quoted security officials.

The Libyan authorities have been trying to restore security by creating, without much success, security agencies whose task is made difficult by the fact that several arms, unlawfully-possessed, are currently circulating in the country.
