2019 CAF U-17 men's AFCON: Uganda beat Ethiopia 3-1, win Central-East Zone slot for Tanzania 2019

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (PANA) - Uganda defeated Ethiopia 3-1 on Sunday to win the Central-East Zone qualifying slot for the 2019 CAF Under-17 AFCON, which will take place in Tanzania next year.

In the third-place match decided earlier in the day, hosts Tanzania beat Rwanda 1–0.

With the emergence of Uganda, four teams are now through to Tanzania 2019.

They are Tanzania (automatic qualifiers as hosts); Uganda, representing Central-East Zone; Cameroon for Central Zone; and Angola (South Zone).

Qualifiers are still expected from North Zone (one slot); West A Zone (2 slots); and West B zone (1 slot).

A total of 8 teams at Tanzania 2019 will vie for the four African slots for the 2019 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Peru.
