2019 CAF U-17 men's AFCON: Niger, Ghana draw 0-0 in Group A qualifying match

Niamey, Niger (PANA) - Hosts Niger on Wednesday drew 0-0 with Ghana in a Group A match in the West Zone B qualifiers for the 2019 CAF Under-17 men's football championship, which will take place in Tanzania.

The match was Niger's final match in the three-team group, leaving Ghana and Togo to play their Day 2 match after which a clear Group winner will emerge.

In Group B, Nigeria will Thursday take on Cote d'Ivoire, a match which will determine the fate of the Nigerian Golden Eaglets.

Nigeria lost their first match 3-2 to Burkina Faso and a slip against Cote d'Ivoire can see them exit the tournament.

The group campaign will end on 9 September, 2018, and the knockout phase will hold from 12–15 September, 2018.

Only one team, winners of the zonal qualifiers, will represent the zone in Tanzania next year.

The zonal or regional qualifiers will determine the seven teams to join hosts Tanzania for next year’s final tournament

Already the following teams have qualified for Tanzania 2019.
1. Tanzania (hosts) - for Central-East Zone.
2. Uganda - also for Central-East Zone.
3. Morocco - Northern Zone.
4. Cameroon - Central Zone.
5. Angola - Southern Zone
