2019 CAF U-17 AFCON qualifiers: Tanzania, Rwanda confirm semi-final slots

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (PANA) - It's now official that hosts Tanzania and Rwanda have made it to the semi-finals of the Central-East Zone qualifiers for the 2019 CAF Under-17 AFCON, which will be played in Tanzania.

In their final Group A qualifying match on Tuesday at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam, the Tanzanians walloped Rwanda 4-0 to win the group and advance on 9 points.

Rwanda also went through on 6 points while Burundi, with 3 points, and Sudan with 0 point, are eliminated.

Tanzania and Rwanda had qualified for the semi-final even before Tuesday's final qualifiers but had to play to determine the winner of the group.

The fifth team in that group, Somalia, withdrew from the competition on account of age cheating.

Two more semi-finalists are expected to emerge from Group B, where Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya are the prospects. Their final group qualifiers are billed for Wednesday as follows -

Uganda vs Djibouti
Ethiopia vs Kenya
