2018 FIFA WWC: Ghana plays Uruguay in FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018 opener

Zurich, Switzerland (PANA) - Ghana will play hosts Uruguay on 13 November in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the opening match of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018 after the official draw for the tournament in Zurich on Wednesday.

Also that day, New Zealand will lock horns with tournament debutants Finland in the same Group A.

The following are the groups after the draw:

Group A: Uruguay, Ghana, New Zealand, Finland
Group B: CONCACAF 1, South Africa, Brazil, Japan
Group C: CONCACAF 3, Cameroon, Korea DPR, Germany
Group D: Korea Republic, Spain, CONCACAF 2, Colombia

A FIFA statement said the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) qualifiers will finish on 12 June.

Defending champions Korea DPR, meanwhile, will open up against Germany in Colonia in Group C while 2014 runners-up Spain will start off versus Korea Republic in Montevideo on 14 November in Group D.

The statement said tickets will go on sale on 13 August, with a first phase reserved exclusively for VISA cardholders.

Fans with U-17 Women’s World Cup tickets in Uruguay will be able to watch two games in the same stadium on the same day.
