2018 FIFA WC Qualifiers: 4 teams now eliminated

Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - After this week's 2018 FIFA World Cup Day 3 qualifying matches in Africa, four teams have been eliminated from the series.

They are Libya from Group A, Algeria from Group B, Mali from Group C and Congo from Group E.

After falling at home 0-1 to Tunisia, 4-0 away to DR Congo and 3-2 away to Guinea, the Libyans have earned no point and are eliminated.

Tunisia lead the group with 9 points, followed by DR Congo on 6 points and Guinea on 3 points.

In Group B, Algeria was eliminated after recording only one point from 3 matches. The Algerians drew 1-1 with Cameroon at home but lost away to both Nigeria and Zambia by the same 3-1 scoreline. Nigeria lead the group with 9 points, ahead of Zambia 4 points and Cameroon 2.

In Group C, Mali was beaten 3-1 by Cote d'Ivoire, 6-0 by Morocco and they drew 0-0 with Gabon when they hosted the Gabonese. Cote d'Ivoire (7 points), Morocco 5 and Gabon 2 lead the group in that order.

Congo are out from Group E, having scored just 1 point from 3 matches.
