2018 FIFA WC Qualifier: Ghana, Uganda draw 0-0

Kampala, Uganda (PANA) - Uganda and Ghana drew their penultimate Group E 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala on Saturday giving the biggest opportunity to Egypt to secure the ticket for the tournament if they beat Congo on Sunday.

The result means Egypt have 9 points, Uganda 8, Ghana 6 and Congo 1. However, Egypt and Congo have played one match less.

Ghana thought they had secured a vital win in the final seconds of the match when Raphael Dwamena slotted home a rebound after a shot by striker Richmond Boakye bounced off Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango. However, the goal was ruled offside.

Ghana, who have been at the finals of the last three World Cup tournaments, are now out and Egypt, who have been absent for more than two decades, have their best chance to be in Russia in 2018.
