2018 FIFA WC Qualifier: Cape Verde stun South Africa 2-1

Praia, Cape Verde (PANA) - Cape Verde on Friday stunned South Africa 2-1 in their Day 3, Group D 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match played at the National Stadium in Praia.

Tokelo Rantie put the South Africans ahead after 14 minutes but Nuno Rocha equalised for the home side in the 33rd minute. Five minutes later he scored from the penalty spot to give Cape Verde the lead and eventually victory.

The result means Burkina Faso lead the group with 4 points although they have played only 2 matches. South Africa are second also with 4 points but have played 3 matches.

Senegal have 3 points from 2 matches while Cape Verde also have 3 points but from 3 matches.
