2018 FIFA WC: Portugal beat Morocco 1-0 to move closer to next round; Morocco crash out

Moscow, Russia (PANA) - Portugal inched closer to the next round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia as they beat Morocco 1-0 in their second Group B match played at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, on Wednesday.

Winger Cristiano Ronaldo's header after four minutes gave the European champions victory and vital three points that put them at the top of the group before Spain meet Iran in the other group B match later in the day at the Kazan Arena.

Ronaldo, who scored a hat-trick in their 3-3 draw against Spain in their first match, now has 4 goals to his credit.

As for the Moroccans, they had a bigger share of the possession (57%), threatened at times, but had no goal to show for it as they crashed out following their 0-1 loss to Iran in their first match.

Portugal have 4 points, Iran have 3 points, Spain have 1 point while Morocco have no point.
