Paris, France (PANA) - Ghana and Nigeria, Africa's representatives at the 2018 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in France, lost their opening matches on Sunday and Monday respectively as the 9th edition of the FIFA event got underway.
The biennial international women's youth football championship is being held in France from
5-24 August, with North Korea as the defending champions.
In their opening matches, Ghana lost 4-1 to the hosts France on Sunday in Group A while Nigeria were pipped 1-0 by Germany on Monday in Group D.
