2017 U-17 AFCON: Guinea hold Ghana 0-0 to reach semi-finals; qualify for FIFA U-17

Libreville, Gabon (PANA) - Guinea on Saturday reached the semi-finals of the 2017 AFCON U-17 tournament in Gabon when they held Ghana to a 0-0 draw in their final Group A match played at Stade de L’Amitié Sino, Libreville.

Guinea, by reaching the semi-finals, also joined Ghana in qualifying for the 2017 FIFA U-17 tournament to be held in India. The other two teams to qualify for the 2017 FIFA U-17 tournament will emerge from Group B on Sunday.

Cameroon beat hosts Gabon 1-0 in the second Group A match played at Stade Port Gentil. Cameroonian captain Stéphane Zobo's first half goal settled the duel, but they fell short of advancing.

Ghana ended the group stage on top with 7 points (2 victories and 1 draw), Guinea had 5 points (1 victory and 2 draws), Cameroon had 4 (1 victory, 1 draw, 1 loss) and Gabon had 0 (3 losses).

The tournament continues on Sunday with the final Group B matches. Mali will play Angola while Tanzania will play Niger.
