2017 FIFA U-20 WC: Zambia through to knockout stage, South Africa lose again

Jeju, Korea (PANA) - Zambia staged a great comeback on Wednesday to beat Iran 4-2 in their 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup Day 2 Group C match played at the Jeju World Cup Stadium, Korea, and reach the knockout stage.

The African champions, who stunned Portugal 2-1 in their first Group C match, have 6 points from two matches.

However, South Africa, another representative of Africa have virtually bowed out after losing 0-2 to Italy in their Day 2 Group D match. The South Africans, who lost the first match 1-2 to Japan, have no point.

In Jeju, Zambia's Fashion Sakana (54th), Enock Mpewu (59th), Emmanuel Banda (65th) and Paston Daka (71st) scored four goals in 17 minutes to overhaul Iran after falling behind 0-2 with goals from R. Shekari in the 7th and 49th (penalty) minutes.

Zambia's final group match will be against Costa Rica.
