2017 FIFA U-20 WC: Guinea eliminated after losing 5-0 to Argentina

Seogwipo, South Korea (PANA) - Argentina battered Guinea 5-0 on Friday in a final Group A match at the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in South Korea, sending the Africans crashing out of the competition.

Argentina which had underperformed in losing the first two group matches, showed why it is the best nation in the history of the Under-20 World Cup with 6 titles in 1979, 1995, 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2007, digging deep into its wealth of experience to dismiss the Africans from third to fourth spot on the group table.

The win gave Argentina 3 points with a slim hope of qualifying as one of the four best third-placed teams.

At the Suwon World Cup Stadium, Suwon, England, bronze medallists in 1993 and fourth-place finishers in 1981, handed hosts South Korea their first defeat (1-0) in three matches to win the Group with 7 points.

The Koreans, with 6 points from two matches played earlier, are also through to the Round of 16.
