2017 FIFA U-17 WC: Spain beat Iran 3-1 to end the Asian country's fairytale run

Kochi, India (PANA) - Spain on Sunday beat Iran 3-1 in their quarter-final 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup match played at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi, India, to set up a semi-final clash with African champions, Mali, on Wednesday.

The Iranains had established themselves as one of the teams to watch until this stage when they met their match in the clinical Spaniards.

Abel Ruiz put Spain on the road to victory with his goal after 13 minutes. Sergio Gomez doubled the lead in the 60th minute with Ferran Torres adding a third seven minutes later.

Saeid Karimi gave Iran the consolation goal in the 69th minute.
