2017 FIFA Club WC: Wydad Casablanca end campaign in 6th place

Al Ain, UAE (PANA) - Wydad Casablanca of Morocco ended their campaign for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 6th place, losing 3-2 to Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan on Tuesday.

The result meant that the Japanese ended in fifth place.

Beaten 1-0 by Pachuca of Mexico in the quarter-finals on 9 December, Wydad, the CAF Champions League champions, had to settle for the match for fifth place against Urawa, also beaten 1-0 in the quarter-finals on the same day by Al-Jazira of the UAE.

As the competition progresses, Pachuca will meet Gremio of Brazil in the first semi-finals on Tuesday while defending champions Real Madrid of Spain take on Al-Jazira in the second semi-finals on Wednesday at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
