2017 FIFA Beach Soccer WC: Brazil wins 5th FIFA World Cup

Nassau, Bahamas (PANA) - Living up to its reputation as a Beach Soccer power house, Brazil humiliated Tahiti 6-0 on Sunday to claim its 5th FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in  Nassau, Bahamas.

Before now, Brazil had won the Beach Soccer World Cup 4 times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) and 9 times when it called the Beach Soccer World Championship (1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004).

Earlier in the day, Iran defeated their more experienced Italian opponents 5-3 to place third.

Italy had won the silver in 2008, bronze in 1996 and finished fourth in 2015 after the competition was renamed FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and third in 1996 and fourth a year earlier (1995) when it was called Beach Soccer World Championship.
