2015 FIFA Beach Soccer WC: Portugal beats Russia 4-2, reaches final

Espinho, Portugal (PANA) - Hosts Portugal on Saturday went through to the final of the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup after defeating two-time winners Russia 4-2 here.

The Portuguese, winners in 2001, three-time silver medallists in 1999, 2002, 2005, five-time bronze medallists (2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011) and fourth-place finishers in 2006, will Sunday meet Tahiti in the final match.

Tahiti defeated Italy 3-1 on penalty shootout after they had tied 6-6 and regulation and extra times to reach the finals.

Russia, winners in 2011 and 2013, takes on Italy in the third-place match, also on Sunday.

The Italians won silver in 2008, bronze in 1996 and two-time, fourth-place finishers in 1995 and 2004.
