15 ECOWAS leaders to attend summit on Cote d'Ivoire

Accra- Ghana (PANA) -- Fifteen Heads of State and governments of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are expected to attend an emergency summit in Accra Sunday on the crisis in Cote d'Ivoire, Ghanaian authorities confirmed here Friday.
A statement issued by the Office of the President in Accra said that the one-day summit would be held at the Parliament House in the Ghanaian capital.
The summit will seek to find solutions to last week's uprising by 750 mutinous Ivorian soldiers protesting their impending demobilisation from the National Armed Forces of Cote d'Ivoire At least 270 people were killed and 300 others wounded in the fighting between government troops.
The insurgents are still in control of the northern half of the country.
President Laurent Gbagbo's government has called it a coup attempt.
